An all round chat capturing the influences in bringing snowboarding to the mainstream with Peter Rob-O.
After receiving a package of Australian retro snowboarding treasures from Thor Prohaska, including some copies of the Snowboarders Edge magazine. Rouchelle has decided to read out some of the older stories periodically.
From seeing a snowboard in Tracks Surf Magazine to inventing snowboards for Australian mountains, to fighting for snowboarding to be allowed in resorts. Thor Prohaska had vast influence in the evolution of snowboarding becoming mainstream in Australia. His journey started out with inventing snowboards in Australia in the early 1980s which lead to fighting for snowboarding to be allowed in the Victorian resorts in Australia.
From growing up surfing, being a chef to ending up in Europe in the 1980s and becoming a snowboarder when snowboarding was just beginning. This chat is a real slice of what it was like to help snowboarding develop in the early days, particularly in Australia.
